First mentions about the area where you can find LIGLASS company are dated in the year 1352.

The town of Železný Brod, established from the settlements Brod and Brodec, has obtained the epithet Železný (iron) beacause of mining of iron. During the Thirty Years´ War the Swede burnt down the town and the town had not been picked-up until the middle of the 18th century. Building of the railway line in 1859 speeded up the development of the town and since 60th of 19th century, small and middle industrialists intorduced the glass industry that has made Železný Brod and its surroundings so famous.

At the end of 19th century you could find nearby Líšný first typical glassworks and those were the basis for Jablonec ´s glass production. In December 1920 the State Technical Glass-trade School was established. This school has significantly influenced art quality of Jablonec´s jewellery and glass production. This school has also inspired the development of the production of LIGLASS company.
