Liglass sklo |
Glass handwork production is one of the most difficult and intensive skill. Manufacturers of glass beads and stones, chandeliers, glass blocks and tiles and also glass designers are able to create unique motives, designs and shapes of glass products in various colour combinations thanks to their patience, accuracy, imaginativeness and taste.
SURFACE REFINEMENT
The surface refinement of metal components that connect glass beads and trimmings on the whole is an integral part of the perfection of each piece of jewellery and chandelier. The surface of glass products is also refined and treated and only after that can we reach the beautiful jewel rising from the pure glass product.
Means of refinement:
- electroplating of metal parts including varnishing
- vacuum refinement of glass surface adds a film of metal to the surface. When light passes through the glass and it shimmers the eye sees the colour effect.
- Polishing of glass products in acid to remove the dirt caused by the previous processes.
- Glass etching and matting cause scoring on the surface affected by the chemical solution however the original shape is conserved.
- Grease removal and surface cleaning of glass and metal as the preparation for other refinements.
GLASS STONES
Glass stones imitate all-cut glass stones. Single shapes with the facets are printed into moulds. Multicoloured molten glass rods or glass sticks are pressed by hand into the moulds. After that each facet can be ground and shaped. For making the mirror reflection on the glass stone we use foiling. A protective varnish is then applied to the reflective flat to prevent mechanical damage.
Types of glass stones:
- Doublets – hand-pressed with a formed top and bottom
- Sew on Stones – hand-pressed with a formed top and flat bottom
- Chaton roses
LAMP BEADS
Each lamp bead is handmade and is unique and unrepeatable. For the originality of each bead we use real silver and gold plating resplendent with a hand-painting. We are able to produce lamp beads from 6 up to 50 mm in various shapes and colour combinations.
These beads are made by the technology of winding, which is the application of a combination of colours and hand-forming of melted glass on wire using a gas burner. Beads are connected together with metal components or can be strung into glass jewellery.
