Metal-plated glass cladding LIGLASS is living material that works with lightHow did you learn about metal-plated cladding made by LIGLASS? I found out about LIGLASS in the middle of 2008. They addressed us in response to our advertisement published in the journal Rezidence. You are the owner of a design studio. Why did you choose the metal-plated cladding of the company LIGLASS? In the year 2008, we were contacted by LIGLASS who was the biggest seller of mosaic cladding in the Czech Republic. As we imported mosaics from all over the world, I came to the conclusion that it might be useful to broaden our horizons as well as an assortment of products in our design studio by metal-plated cladding from domestic suppliers. I also highly appreciated LIGLASS' long-lasting tradition and experience therefore I agreed on cooperation with Mr. Smelík, the managing director. Besides such luxury materials, they are especially well integrated for design studios, it is not cladding for ordinary tile shops. What engaged your attention to metal-plated cladding and what in your opinion lies the exceptionality or advantage of this material? It is unique, living material that works with light. I do like interesting objects and it is the metal-plated cladding that connects all these aspects. I see as the biggest advantage of the LIGLASS cladding in play of colors and light. In fact, the cladding is never the same but it is always changing. Furthermore, it is very easy to clean the glass which plays a big role in customers' decision making. Which color most caught your eye? That one we have laid in Fortel Design – Bermuda Blue.
To which target group would you recommend to get the metal-plated cladding and where is the material most suitable for? The cladding is intended for the higher middle class of our customers. I would recommend it for use in wellness, relaxation rooms, and steam rooms. But I can imagine this material to be installed in kitchens or bathrooms. How do the customers respond to metal-plated cladding? To be honest, they just stare wide-eyed. Our studio is primarily occupied with stone cladding and the only glass here is the metal-plated glass cladding by LIGLASS. As a result of this, people notice the product and ask for more information. Do you install metal-plated cladding for final customers? Certainly. Our latest installation of Liglass cladding was in a showroom of Fagerhult, the Swedish light fitting producer, in Bratislava.
